Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country debuted in 1991 and it marked the end of the adventures from the cast of the original Star Trek.
A whodunit with political overtones, this movie was a great success, leaving many wondering why it was the last movie with Kirk, Spock, McCoy and the rest of the Enterprise crew. It was a film that performed well during a disappointing year at the box office and was also the only Trek movie to win a Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film.
This week, we'll take a look at The Undiscovered Country and talk about one of our favorite Star Trek adventures. Plus, we'll look at the Klingons and whether Chang may be among the best of them. We'll also examine the central questions this film brings up for us--like whether it stands the test of time.
Plus news on a Star Trek: Discovery panel at Wondercon, Saturn Award nominations for Discovery, and Star Trek Online players can now "send their ships" to get printed---it's all in this week's episode of Your Independent Star Trek Podcast!
